Tom McAteer has been a member of the Board of Directors since November, 2006. Mr. McAteer brings almost 30 years of executive experience, including seven as chief executive of Vytra Health Plans. Tom contributes a valuable perspective and a deep understanding of successful business management gained from managing government, transportation and health care organizations.

Currently, Tom serves as a Senior Vice-President for Schaller Anderson Inc., a subsidiary of Aetna, Inc. He is responsible for the development of the New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania markets. Schaller Anderson is a nationally recognized leader in the health care industry with over $3.2 billion in spending at risk or under management. Prior to joining Schaller Anderson, Tom served as the President and CEO of Vytra Health Plans. Before joining Vytra, Tom served as the Chief Deputy County Executive in Suffolk County New York and prior to that as the Director of Human Resources for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.

Tom earned his BA and MBA from Hofstra University and also completed a post-graduate program at Columbia University, Managing the Enterprise. In 2000, he was awarded an honorary doctorate of Commercial Sciences from Dowling College.
